Battle for knowledge

There are 20 libraries in Serbia within the project Digital Citizen, among which is the Jagodina Public Library. The first in series micro:bit training was held for 45 librarians from 20 libraries in the National Library of Serbia on 18th January 2019. The librarians had the opportunity to learn the basics of micro:bit programming. The second training was held on 18th April in the Kragujevac Public Library. In this advanced training the librarians were trained to use the Boson kit. The library representatives were given the equipment (20 microbit computers and 5 DIY electronic kits). The Jagodina Public librarians started the implementation of the project Digital Citizen on 22nd April in the Electrotechnical School Nikola Tesla. They presented micro:bits and Boson kits to IT seniors. They continued the project activities in primary schools, and in the beginning of May new groups of students would attend workshops at the Library. There is great interest in the library workshops which is the indicator of the impact of innovations on children who are eager for knowledge. In the second phase of the project, 5 most active libraries will be selected based on the users of micro:bits and workshops held. The award is a 3D printer and 3D printing training.
