More than 3,300 delegates from over 140 countries came to Athens attended the 85th World Library and Information Congress of IFLA in the Megaron Athens International Conference Centre (M.A.I.C.C) from 24-30 August 2019.
The Congress theme was “Libraries: dialogue for change“.
There were more than 500 speakers at over 250 open sessions, nearly 200 poster sessions, 30 lighting talks, over 20 Satellite Meetings, and 11 key sessions which were live streamed.
There were 34 delegates from Serbia, including the representatives of the Jagodina Public Library-Ivana Pešić and Suzana Tanasijević. The Jagodina Public librarians participated in the Poster Session on 26th and 27th August, and presented the work of their Library with a poster “Changing Yourself will change the World”. We attracted attention of delegates from different continents while we were presenting innovative and digital services of the Library: AgroLib, Electricity Letters and Digital Citizen.
The librarians presented successfully the work of the Library and promoted the town of Jagodina judging by the comments of colleagues form Serbia and delegates from different countries.
